Football

High school football, also referred to as prep football , dates back to the late 19th century, concurrent with the start of many college football programs. In the late 19th and early 20th century, many college and high school teams played against one another.

Many other traditions of high school football such as pep rallies, marching bands, mascots, and homecomings are mirrored in college football.

Golf

There are over 220,000 high school golfers Nationwide – According to the National Federation of State High School Associations, there were 144,024 boys and 78,781 girls that made up the high school golf community in 2017-18. The high school golf community is one of the largest community of golfers within the industry.

Tennis

High School tennis is an incredible opportunity for teenagers to compete in a great environment – on a team with friends. And its benefits are many, both in terms of health, fitness and social interaction.

Girls Volleyball

Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. ... The team may touch the ball up to 3 times, but individual players may not touch the ball twice consecutively.

Girls Soccer

The National Federation of State High School Associations, based in Indianapolis, Indiana, sets high school soccer rules in the United States as well as rules for 15 other sports. Founded in 1920, the NFHS largely borrows from the Laws of the Game set by FIFA, the international governing body of soccer.

Girls Softball

Fast pitch softball is played between two teams on a large field, with 9 players.  Slow-pitch softball is played with ten fielders but can be played with nine if needed.

Varsity Football

Varsity is the primary team that will compete for a high school in a given sport. The varsity team is generally the best team that the school can create with their top athletes. Students are selected through a tryout process where coaches assess their ability to determine if they are among the best athletes in the school for that sport.

Freshman Football

Freshman refers to the third team that will compete for a high school in a given sport. “Frosh” teams usually consist of ninth grade students and some schools allow sophomores. Players are selected through a tryout process where coaches assess their ability to determine if they are among the best athletes in the school for that sport.


Junior Varsity Football

Junior varsity (often called "JV") players are the members of a team who are not necessarily the main players in a competition The main players comprise the varsity team.

Youth Football

The Greater Eastside Junior Football Association (GEJFA) was formed by the Bellevue Boys and Girls Club in 1963 to provide contact football in a program that respects the Boys and Girls Club philosophy. GEJFA serves all youth between the ages of 8 and 14. There are five levels of play based on an age/weight formula to ensure that players compete against players of like size and age. The levels are Rookie, Cub, Sophomore, Junior Varsity and, Varsity.
